Be a part of one of the fasted growing water sports in the world! We welcome individuals of all experiences, abilities and ages to come out and experience Outrigger Canoe Racing.
- OUR OHANA-
Founded in 1985 by a small group of 6 paddlers, including Ex-Navy Seal, Dee VanWinkle, our club has developed into one of the most prominent and diverse Outrigger Canoe Clubs in San Diego, with members originating from all around the world. Our team consists of men and women, from Olympic class athletes to the first-time paddler, but we all share the same love and passion for sport, family and fun. Nothing beats the incredible California sun and surf with great people. SDOCC is always looking for fun, team-oriented people.
SDOCC is a member of the Southern California Outrigger Racing Association (SCORA) and as well as sending teams to compete in all SCORA races up and down the coast of California, SDOCC prides itself on having a strong representation in races in Hawaii as well as races over mainland America. Outrigger Canoeing is rapidly becoming the most competitive water sport along the west coast, with 29 clubs in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada as well as 17 in Northern California, and since all divisions are available for both men and women, Outrigger Canoe racing is one of a few totally co-ed water sports available.

Standard "IN-SEASON" Practice Schedule:
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to start times
Men's: Tues & Thurs 6-8p + Sun 8-11a
Women's: Mon & Wed 6-8p + Sat 7:30-10:30a

MEMBERSHIPS ARE ANNUAL, INCLUDING THE OC-6 SEASON AND OFF-SEASON RECREATIONAL PADDLING. RACE FEES ARE BASED ON MEMBERSHIP AND TYPE OF RACE. CLUB PADDLES ARE FREE TO USE, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. PAYMENT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE.
*ONE-MAN (OC1) ACTIVITIES ARE ORGANIZED THRU THE CLUB, BUT CANOES MUST BE OWNED OR BORROWED BY EACH MEMBER. RACE FEES NOT INCLUDED.
FREE NOVICE TRIAL
Come and try us out! We welcome new and friendly faces all year-round. All you need is swimwear or water-approved athletic clothes and a good attitude. We have the rest covered!

ANNUAL MEMBER - $350 /yr
Consecutive or non-consecutive years. Jersey not included. Long-distance and certain travel race fees paid separately.
Membership includes access to practice equipment, boat towing and transfer to races, insurance and club administration costs.
OC-1 CANOE STORAGE - $25 /month
Subject to availability. Dues are month-to-month and can be setup with automatic funds transfer.
